In modern society, elders often don't get the connection they need and deserve, and we miss out on their wisdom. Your grandparents are welcome to bring in-person friends or caretakers to sing in community. (And don't worry, we'll take care of muting them when everybody's mics are supposed to be off!)
It's awesome to meet friends at song camp or conferences, but how do you stay connected in between those times when you can actually hug? Grief circles, online singing, collaborations...even better with friends you already know joining in.
Grief, song, and shared stories are glues to hold a village together. The family pass brings emotional closeness in shared activity while you're apart.
Some examples: kids going off to school, friends graduating from college, surgery/illness, long distance lovers, online friends made during Covid, nomadic folks, and anyone moving to a new home.
